It could be to:

  • pass exams and carry on studying
  • get an apprenticeship
  • earn enough money to spend a summer working abroad
  • find your ultimate job.

If you’re not sure what your goal is, think about one main thing you want to achieve by next year, then write it down. Think about all the steps it’ll take to get there and how you’ll feel when you achieve it.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_separator color=”white” style=”double”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/6″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/6″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/6″][vc_custom_heading text=”2″ font_container=”tag:h2|font_size:60|text_align:center” google_fonts=”font_family:Merriweather%3A300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_custom_heading text=”Set smaller goals along the way” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left” google_fonts=”font_family:Merriweather%3A300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal”][vc_column_text]Whatever your main goal is, you’ll need to take smaller steps to get there. These might be:

  • completing a training course
  • applying for work experience
  • getting a Saturday job.

There’s no harm in thinking big, though getting a job as a mechanic, a journalist or a nurse will take time and be hard work.

Don’t be discouraged, but do be realistic about what you can achieve in the short-term. Make a list of these and tick them off as you go.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_separator color=”white” style=”double”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/6″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/6″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/6″][vc_custom_heading text=”4″ font_container=”tag:h2|font_size:60|text_align:center” google_fonts=”font_family:Merriweather%3A300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_custom_heading text=”Get support” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left” google_fonts=”font_family:Merriweather%3A300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal”][vc_column_text]Tell a friend, your parents or a teacher about your goal and how you’re going to achieve it. It’ll make it seem more real – and you’ll get some encouragement along the way.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_separator color=”white” style=”double”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/6″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/6″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/6″][vc_custom_heading text=”5″ font_container=”tag:h2|font_size:60|text_align:center” google_fonts=”font_family:Merriweather%3A300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_custom_heading text=”Go for it and don’t give up!” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:left” google_fonts=”font_family:Merriweather%3A300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal”][vc_column_text]Making a list of smaller goals and giving yourself a small reward as you achieve them will give you the confidence and motivation to keep going. If you come up against obstacles, think of them as small hurdles you can jump over. Most of all, don’t give up.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_separator color=”white” style=”double”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
